5.0 out of 5 stars Edgier than Cranium but just as fun!, April 12, 2011

I found this on clearance at Walmart and so bought it without knowing anything about it. I played it with a couple friends (we are all in our mid-20s) and it was HYSTERICAL. We were laughing so hard we were crying. It's extremely easy to learn - basically you just do whatever the cards tell you. It's very similar to Cranium in that there are different categories such as trivia and performing, but the characters, board, and even the questions and activities are all a little edgier and more creative. What gives it a real twist are the "Roolz" cards (rules cards) that remain in play for the entire game once they are drawn. They are anything from "Repeat everything you say twice" to "Snort like a pig every time you laugh" -- and trust me, you'll be laughing.

5.0 out of 5 stars SILLY & FUN BOARD GAME FOR RIGHT CROWD, August 25, 2011

I got this board game for a family vacation with guests. We gave it a test run before packing it and found ourselves laughing and having fun but I'm not sure it would work for our vacation of adults with small kids. The game is rated for 12+ but I'd recommend even older (15+). I think this game would appeal best to the college crowd. Also, more people playing equals more fun.

There are 8 characters to choose from (super ninja monkey, Mr. Lugnut, Queen Spatula, etc.) and although it has colored coded categories like Cranium, they have a different spin. Each card has instructions with a Quelf Effect. Blue is Roolz (speak like a charismatic preacher every time you read a card aloud), purple is Showbiz (using interpretive dance as language, perform the following sentence), yellow is Stuntz (lick your elbow and then an opponent's elbow), red is Scatter Brainz (gives 2 topics to choose from to talk about - reasons you loved or had a crush on someone or reasons you... I just finished playing this game with my extended adult family. We are all Cranium fans and get a kick out of funny board games. Things started off a little slow because we had to read the rules and it was our first game. The instructions were clear and not too long. So once we read the first side of the instruction sheet, we were ready to play, and just used the rest of the instructions as sort of a cheat sheet.

The cards you draw tell you what to do so most of the game is just rolling die, moving, and following the instructions on the cards. Because I like Cranium and other quiz games, my favorite categories were Quizzle and Scatterbrainz. Although, you will probably get the most laughter out of the Roolz, Stuntz, and Showbiz categories. This game is very similar to Cranium, just a little more zany.

There was one point in the game where I had to snort like a pig everytime I laughed, while my Dad was stuffing fruit in his shirt. It sounds silly, but we... Read more
